23 Mobile Things: Thing 3 - Red Laser Scanner

The Red Laser Scanner was apparently an app I'd downloaded some time ago during my first foray into QR codes. I haven't used it much since, so this Thing was a path to rediscovery. I'm not sure if this feature is new to the RLS or whether I just didn't notice it the first time around, but the most useful aspect of this app is its ability to store all of your loyalty cards in the cloud. I've tried to minimize, and even though I've gone through them countless times in an effort to reduce my wallet bulk, I just can't get part with any of my store cards. I know that there are other apps that will store this information, but sometimes, I just don't want another app--I prefer RLS because of its multiple features. I'm off to go load those cards and lighten my wallet.
23 Mobile Things: Thing 2 - I Love My Phone

I love my phone. I take it with me everywhere. I check my various social media sites several dozen times a day, take pictures of my kiddos, check the weather (come onnnnnnnn, Cold Day!), text my peeps. But as much time as I spend on my phone, I haven't really taken the time to get to know it. That's why this Thing was so absolutely mind blowing...YOU CAN CHANGE SIRI'S PRONUNCIATION?!?! I realized, after running around to all of my friends with this exciting news, that they all already know this amazing fact, as well as how to add emojis to their texts and take pictures with the volume button (even when your iPhone is locked). It's funny how a few inside tricks really make you feel hip and savvy, not to mention saving you a lot of time. I'm so excited to see where the next Things take me!

23 Mobile Things: Thing 1
Posted by Ms. P at 12:37 PM 0 comments
I started 23 Things on a Stick years ago, but between finishing grad school and planning a wedding, I didn't get far. Now, after several years on the job, I'm feeling the isolation that media specialists often experience as the solo member of our "team." Ed tech is already an interest of mine, and I'm excited about the prospect of expanding my knowledge base through 23 Mobile Things. Bring it!
